I love those parts where Jesus bawls out the high and mighty. I always imagine the ordinary people who are also present snickering among themselves. Why? Jesus had the nerve to say out loud what they had always wanted to say but were too afraid to. That is one reason Jesus was their folk hero.
Appreciated this conversation. Much to be reminded of today and to ask myself, "Am I seeking to offer the hope of Christ to those around me or am I binding heavy burdens through the ways I emphasize externals at the expense of love?"
