"Our prayers and thoughts are with you" and "Go, and be fed" have an awful lot in common. As a previous school district employee, my work also included making schools secure. This led me to doing the research on who, why, and how school shootings develop.

When we hear of the deaths of children caused by gun violence the glibness of "Our prayers and thought are with you..." and not taking obvious actions? Just like telling the hungry to "be fed..." and not provide food.

Change gun laws. Prosecute parents of student shooters. Arming teachers or putting more police in the schools does not solve the problem! Take guns like the AR 15 etc. off the market. Forget this, "Itis my RIGHT to own as many guns as I want..." macho talk.

The US is the ONLY nation in the world that legally provides ways and means for school shootings with horrific outcomes.

Psychological testing of the purchaser is another useless concept. The majority of school shootings were NOT committed by the owners of the fire arms.

"Go, and be fed..." i as useless as "Our thoughts and prayers are with you." Neither works toward practical solutions. As believers we should be as ashamed of the one as of the other response.
