A lot of people seem to believe that on the Day of Judgment, all of their good deeds will be weighed against all of their sins to see whether or not they have been good enough to be saved.
We have been taught wrongly about the Judgment Seat of Christ. No where in 2 Cor. 5 is the word "reward" ever mentioned. Paul refers to this judgment as "the terror of the Lord." Paul says those in this judgment will be judged for the good and evil they did in their body. In other words, they will be judged for their sins. This CANNOT be a judgment for believers. That is why Paul said in this same chapter that "we persuade men" to believe on Jesus for God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself NOT COUNTING THEIR SINS AGAINST THEM." This Judgment Seat of Christ is for the unbelievers, NOT the believers. Also the Greek word "Bema" translated Judgment Seat is the same Greek word used for the Judgment Seat of Pilate where Jesus was condemned to death. To say that "Bema" means a place where awards are handed out like in the Olympics is false.
