I feel like this Radically Christian blog is becoming a real community. I can’t tell you how much you all have encouraged me over the last couple of years. It is such a huge blessing getting to know my Christian family throughout the world via facebook, twitter, and this blog. Because I consider you my friends, I want to pass along resources that I think might help you in your walk with Christ.

books for the church

It is so important that we have good Christian authors writing books to help us, encourage us, and challenge us. But, in order to benefit from their writing, we have to be reading. Here are a couple of books that I think will be of great benefit to the church.

A few months ago I mentioned Michael Whitworth’s book, The Epic of God: A Guide to Genesis. If you haven’t picked that one up yet, I would recommend doing so. Michael is an extremely talented writer and I know you will be encouraged by reading Epic. But while you’re at it, you may want to also preorder his next book, The Derision of Heaven: A Guide to DanielHe is offering the eBook for FREE to those who preorder the paperback by this Saturday (7/6/13).

Also, another friend, John Furness, allowed me to read an early draft of a book he has co-written with Chuck Anderson, Bring | Teach | Keep. It is a book on personal evangelism that doesn’t advocating “dunking and dropping” people. This book focuses on making disciples and I think it is much needed in the church. The book has not yet been released either, but you can go to BringTeachKeep.com and get notified when the book it is ready for purchase.

Hope you find these books helpful as you seek to grower closer to God and to glorify Him in your daily life.

I love you and God loves you,

Wes McAdams
